PROBING-PROMPTING METHOD IN MATH STUDYING FOR STUDENT IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO INCREASE HIGHER ORDER THINKING CABABILITY

Probing prompting is a studying method. Probing-prompting is from word probe and prompt. In pure means, probe is a blunt-ended surgical instrument for exploring a wound or part of the body or a small measuring or testing device, especially an electrode. Beside that, there are other means for it, that probe means an investigation into a crime or other matter, an unmanned exploratory spacecraft, a projecting device on an aircraft for in-flight refueling or on a spacecraft for docking with another craft, and physically explore or examine, also enquire into closely. The second word is prompting, that from ‘prompt’ which have means cause or bring about, if that is used by someone, so that means it cause someone to take course of action, the other means assist or encourage, done or acting without delay, arriving precisely at a prearranged time. So, in the clause of ‘probing-prompting’ have means that in the studying process on the classroom, the teacher will give many question to her students to know how far students know their material. It can make student usually to thinking developer, not just like as be written on the books. Hopefully, this methods can be use from lower level, like in elementary school.
Why elementary school? Because in this level, people or students on the ‘to used’ facet to all aspect on their live. So, this is a good time for us as teacher to built the new capability for higher order on the thinking.
In the some town, maybe the student usually to exercise used higher order thinking on the classroom. But, not for some place in our country which we usually called ‘on the lower element of population’ or the people in the region or village, even on the inland…
So, it our task to make our generation be better from this generation.
There are some people which suggest that the material of study in our education is math. We know that math is the power of science. If we still think that, so when we can be progress people? For it, we also have new task as teacher to make all people awareness it.
To get it, we can use one of some method in math studying. It is a probing-prompting method. So, which this method, student can dig up their knowledge, so they will think and make the relation with knowledge and experience them-self. From one student to other student is differ. So, it can make reduce student afraid for their answer in their class. So, they will get new experience and optimist that her or his answer is good from the other.
With this method, we also can get all student take part in discuss and focus to our lesson. Because, we will give questions to student random. So, all of student must be attend and ready to answer it so, beside it can make our students focus to our lesson, it can make them prepare that material which will study in class. Because, if students not do it, they can not answer our questions.
Maybe it can make our class stretched, so sometimes we can to give icebreaking in our class, like jumping, sit and stand, or the other. We must always smile to our students, so they will not afraid to our lesson in this class.
For students which can correct answer, we must give award for his or her. Its can motivated our students to increase their knowledge. But, to our student which false answer, we also must be value for the courage to delivered their idea.
If it, can be usual in live of our people it can make better our generation, and we can be compete with other country, even development country.
